Our tour of the Fort McMurray oil sands will depart from Calgary and Edmonton June 1st through September 2nd, 2012.

DAY TOUR FROM CALGARY
June 1 - 30 -  Friday
July 1 until September 2 - Friday and Sunday

• Depart Calgary Airport at 7:45 AM
  
• Arrive Fort McMurray Airport at 8:58 AM
  
• Taxi to Discovery Centre*
  
• Check-in for bus tour  (10:00)
  
• Bus tour of Suncor operation departs 10:15 AM
  
• Return to Discovery Centre 2:00 PM
• You will have the afternoon to enjoy exhibits and presentations at the Discovery Centre
  
• Taxi to Fort McMurray Airport at 3:15 PM*
  
• Depart Fort McMurray Airport at 4:45 PM
  
• Arrive Calgary Airport at 5:57 PM

DAY TOUR FROM EDMONTON
Friday only

• Depart Edmonton Airport at 7:20 AM
  
• Arrive Fort McMurray Airport at 8:27 AM
  
• Taxi to Discovery Centre*

• Bus tour of Suncor operation departs 10:15 AM
  
• Return to Discovery Centre 2:00 PM

About the Discovery Centre Tour of the Suncor Operation

Tour the Suncor oil sands facility and get a close up view of what it takes to extract oil from the tar sands. Visit Suncor Energy, the world’s first commercially successful oil sands plant. View the advanced technology and massive equipment that is used to produce this incredible resource. 100-ton scoop shovels load 380-ton payload trucks with rich, black oil sand and transport it to seven story high sizers that crush the ore into bite-sized pieces. Company trained tour guides will explain the process from mining to pipeline while traveling the designated tour route through the Steepbank, Millennium and base plant sites.
